'• Roostfrs " Competition " Last Thursday the " holders," Messrs Cuthbert and Murpby, successfully defended their title against Messrs Driscoll and V" Phillips, defeating them after a close contest by 26 to 19. This (Thursday) afternoon they are pitted against Messrs McLeod and Hafford, and will have to be right on" it to retain the " roosters." Championship Singles Further results, second round, are: — Ellett beat Hill, 33—9 Graham beat Bishop, — — Rimmer beat Hafford, by default Nuttall beat Strange, by default Handicap Singles A Section— Cullens (handicap 4) beat Cuthbert (handicap 6) B Se ction —Rimmer (5) beat Garry (6) C Section—Hill (5) beat Nuttall (7) D Section—Graham (scratch) beat McLeod (5); Graham, (scratch) beat Murphy (6); Harris (scratch) beat Graham (scratch) • Murphy (6) beat Harris (scratch) First Year Players ' This event is nearing completion and at present Mr Coutts appears to have a first class chance. His nearest opponents are Murphy, % Gallagher, and Channon.
