SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5.

PRESENT Messrs E. T. Field (chairman), J. Lambert, J. Wilson, T. Elliott, A. Becroft, G. Sellars, and the Clerk (Mr H. W. Stringer). MINUTES Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE Outward correspondence was confirmed. NEW BY-LAWS Decision re printing of the new by-laws was deferred until next meeting. THE POUND RENT The Clerk was instructed to notify Mr V. F. McLeod that as the Board has no control over the Pound, they will not be responsible for rent. FIRE BRIGADE SITE The question of a suitable site for the erection of a Fire Brigade Station, was ordered to be held over till next meeting. FISHERMEN'S WHARF The Clerk's action in asking Mr Gordon Coates to forward a telegram to the Minister for Marine, urging the passing of the authority to spend the money voted for repairs to the Fishermen's Wharf, was confirmed, and a letter of thanks was ordered to be sent to Mr Coates for his kindness in dispatching the telegram. ! OVERHANGING TREES AND • HEDGES It was decided to instruct owners of property who have hedges projecting on the footpath to cut same back to boundary; also, to notify the public who have trees overhanging the footpath that the trees must be trimmed to n height of seven feet from the ground. TENDERS FOR SAND AND . SHINGLE The Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for the supply of 100 yds sand and shingle suitable for tarring. j | FIVE SHILLINGS A DOG j It was resolved that the rate j for Dog Tax for 1915 should be 5/ for each dog. i FORMATION OF FOOTPATH The Roads Committee was authorised to instruct the surfaceman to continue the formation of the footpath on the south side of Awaroa Road to Nelson Street.
