THE KAIPARA AND WAITEMATA ECHO With Which Is Incorporated "The Kaipara Advertiser & Waitemata Chronicle." Helensville, Friday, Novr, 27, 1914. HELENSVILLE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

The coming annual Show, which is looked upon with great concern by the farming community throughout the district, will be held on Friday, January 29th, 1915, and notwithstanding the fact that the war takes premier place in the thoughts of men, the numerous subscriptions causing a great drain upon the pockets of one and all, the many gifts of goods and money in special prizes, general subscription list, and membership are quite up to the standard of former years, so that, weather conditions being favourable— rain is much wanted at present —and all other affairs, including the management committee, the ladies' committee, as well as tho secretaryship being all in good hands, there is no reason to believe otherwise than that the ' coming Show will easily eclipse its predecessors. What is now wanting to make further success assured is to have the grounds and pens in thorough order, the catering to be well looked after, and that the inside exhibits will be duly cared for, the latter needing much attention, especially as the Association has no substantial building at present to place them in. Tho usual Show schedule has just been printed at the Echo 'Office, and the Secretary, Mr L. L,. Bailey, saddler, of Helens ville, will gladly supply those interested with a copy on application. It contains the usual classes for all live .stock, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, etc., of every grade and breed; riding competitions, and Hie many and various classes for dairy, field and garden produce. Classes for fruit, flowers, preserves, bread, cakes, and other cooking, besides industries and needlework, in which the ladies are so keenly interested. School work for the children also comprises a large section for competition. Some good cattle and horse exhibits have already been promised by settlers at a distance. There arc one or two good features in the new schedule. The amount of all entrance moneys is distinctly stated, so that there is no per centage to be added up or miscalculated, and it is also provided that all entries close on Saturday, January 16 next, and that there will be v no late entries " allowed ; this is done in order to help the timely printing of the catalogues to be executed, which is no sinecure.
