SHORT OF PAPER

LIKE many another venture in the Dominion affected by the war, we have to announce that our supplies of paper have run short and that the usual shipments are not to be expected from Canada as heretofore. In consequence of this unfortunate predicament the ECHO must conserve its present stock, and cut the cloth according to the measure, by issuing a six-page paper instead of the former eightpage weekly. A large number of papers, especially country issues, have had to reduce their output, while some have had to suspend publication altogether. The continuation of the story, "The Riverside-House Mystery," which commenced a couple of weeks ago, will occasionally have to be held over until such time as war conditions will permit of regular supplies coming to hand.
