THE KAIPARA AND WAITEMATA ECHO WITH WHICH IS INCORPORATED "THE KAIPARA ADVERTISER & WAITEMATA CHRONICLE." HELENSVILLE, FRIDAY, NOVER, 13, 1914. THE HOT SPRINGS

Helensville must now be looking forward to the Tourist Season with some hundreds and even thousands of visitors from the Queen City of the Dominion, therefore it is with no small amount of apprehension wo urge on the Domain Board to exert some activity in getting to work. The old Board had elaborate plans drawn out for new and additional baths and accommodation, and it is to be hoped that these have been forwarded on to Wellington in due course and that they will be returned approved of, with permission to go ahead. There was a vote of £400 planed upon the Estimates last year, but being quite inadequate and insufficient to work upon, the old Board managed to get another <£800 added, which amount was accordingly voted for further additions upon the recent estimates, making the handsome sum of £1200 now available, so that it is up to the new Board to get to work, and if they have ihe welfare of the district at heart—-as we hope and think they have—the improvements and additions, as proposed, should be moving almost immediately. 'There is no lime to be lost in this most important matter. " ('ln istmas is coming," but that is not ail to the holiday -seek er from tbe big city and elsewhere. Easter is also coming I and wjtli it the greatest rush to Helensvilie Hot Springs, when the extra, bath accommodation, etc , should be provided for (long before hand) for the great infiiix that may safely be expected. Happily the train service is now almost adequate, and Helens^ ille being but 38 miles from Auckland, gives it great preference oxey

hundreds of other tourist resorts. In these circumstances we would, therefore, prevail upon the new Board to get to work straight away, because if this coming season be lost, then good-bye to its chances of popularity in the future.
