HOW TO MAKE THIS WARM AND USEFUL GARMENT.
There are several reasons why every woman should possess a dressing gown ; but perhaps. the most important is that 'a garment of this kind is so easily slipped on and off, and frequently,, -.savgs one from catching a bad rcol'd. : A busy mother of a family, for •. instance, of ten has many calls onher attention before she has' ■ time to complete her dressing 'in.the morning, and she needs a really serviceable dressing, gown, which at the same time can be very dainty in style. What could be more ' dainty than this neglige, and to make it is not beyond your power.
' To make" the gown 4£ yards of material 54 inches wide are required. 'A good' warm fabric for dressing gowns is ripple-cloth : but perhaps you would find r?this*too heavy. In that case nuns-veiling would be charmingly dainty. The variety-' of trimmings from which one can choose nowadays makes decision a diflicult matter ; but with the rip-ple-cloth a coloured embroidery about two inches wide would be most effective, while with nunsveiling" "strips of silk would be more dainty.
