OBITUARY
DEATH OF MRS N. OSBORNE
On Sunday morning last, while on the voyage from Sydney by the steamer Riverina, Mrs N. Orborne suddenly expired. The Riverina readied Auckland at 10.30 a.m. on Monday with flag flying at half-mast, and Captain Entwisle immediately reported the fatality to the 'authorities. The deceased was formerly a resident of Belensville, and was accompanied by her husband and little daughter. She was suffering from consumption, and on her doctor's advice she went to Queensland recently. She appeared to improve in health as the result of her stay in the warmer climate of Queensland, but during the return trip her condition became serious. Just bvfore 8 a.m. on Sunday Mrs Orborne ascended to the deck to obtain fresh air, but as the , atmosphere was damp, she was J induced by the stewardess' to return to the shelter of the deck cabin. While being assisted ! through the second saloon music j room, the invalid expired in the j stewardess's arms. ' The second | saloon steward, Mr Quarmsbv, j and jiis stuff did all that was i possible tv restore animation.; The deceased was 38 years of a.'.re ■ and was highly respected. She ! leaves a family of five children ! in Hclensviile. '
