AN APPRECIATION
TO THE.EDITOH. Slß,—Will you kindly through the columns of your valuable paper permit me, on behalf of the women of Helensville, to thank the Singer Sewing Machine Co. for the offer of sewing machines for making garments for our men going to the war. Also to thank Mr Screaton for a very substantial donation of grey'flannel for shirts. I invite all ladies interested in this good work to meet at my house every afternoon to sew. Donations are earnestly requested for the purchase of materials. Relying on the loyalty and patriotic feelings of the women of Helensville, we expect a generous response.— I am, etc., C. E. OXLEY, Hon. Sec.
