PARKHURST SCHOOL

Though the weather was not the best for Arbour Day, a fair number of householders turned out. Native trees were brought and planted by the children, and a band of willing workers .did some clearing-up, and prepared the paths around the school building for a coating of suoria. The refreshments provided by the ladies were done ample justice to.

The Chairman made a few remarks on school matters, aud thanked all tor their attendance.

The thanks of the School Committee are due to all those who helped, and also to Mr G. McDonald who assisted the Cummittoe to cart and spread ssoria.

One pleasing feature is that the roll number has increased in a shjrt time from 14 to 31, a sure sign of the progress of the district.
