A HORSE-RAIL The Manager of the Bank of New Zealand wrote applying for permission to erect a horse-rail in front of the Bank's premises^— V Permission granted, Board to have power to remove rail if necessary. MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE Mr J. Gordon Coates, M.P., wrote stating he would be pleased p to act as the Board's delegate at the Municipal Conference to be held in Wellington.—Offer accepted. TE»&?HONE SERVICE In repry- to a letter from the Board re the unsatisfactory state of the telephone communication ' between Helensville and Auckland, the Telegraph Department wrote stating they were pushing on the new system as speedily as possible. FOREMAN'S RESIGNATION I Mr Bert tendered his resign aI tion as Foreman of Works to the Board, which was accepted, and . Mr Jesse Fifield was appointed as his successor. \ GOW STREET SERVICE I Mr D. Stewart wrote asking l ; when the Board proposed putting )j the sewerage and water main I along Gow Street—The Clerk j was instructed to reply that if | Mr Stewart forwarded a letter to I the Board, signed by the property I owners in Gow Street, stating ) that the street was the property [ of the Town Board, the Board, I would be prepared to have the I mains laid. [ INCREASING MEMBERS ON BOARD j It was decided that the number of members on the Board be increased from five to seven, and the Clerk was directed to ask the Board's solicitor (Mr Ziman) to take steps to secure the necessary Order-in-Council in time to permit of the election taking place at the general election of members in September next. CEMETERY MATTERS Mr Hand was appointed to the Cemetery Committee, vice Mr J. Stewart resigned. It was decided to have the cemetery property ploughed, Mr Hand being empowered to get same done. A DRAIN WANTED Mr T. Elliott applied to the Board for permission to put in a drain from his house to the creek "i*--' and asking the Board's assistance towards same.—lt was decided to grant permission, and to vote a sum of £12 towards the cost of the work. FINANCIAL — ■ The balance of accounts showed general account, Dr. £302 17s 6d; drainage and water supply, Dr. £3.341 17s. Accounts amounting to £98 4s 7d were passed for payment.
