THE METHODIST PRESIDENT'S ADVICE
The Rev. Samuel J. Serpell, President of the Methodist Conference, has issued at the request of the Conference a patsoral letter ='• to the peopin called Methodists." In the course of of his Letter, which appears in the InW Zealand " Methodist Times," he writes :--" By its vote the Conference re-affirmed its support of the Bible in Schools policy. The Bible is the heritage of every British child. A right it is b.vn to. not conferred as a bo iii by any Government, but a riyht .secured h) the toil, blood, and death of our i'athiiis. We are q-ui!!y ol! a I crime against the life of the children ;of our couutrv by withholding iiom the ' Word of God.' • I commend to I your prayerful practical sympathy | and support the policy of the Biblo in ! Schools Loagua, . . . Refuse to I vote for a man who refuses to trust | the parents to say what, their children shall or shall not read in our public j schools,"
