HELENSVILLE v. SUBURBS
The last Cup match between Helensville and Suburbs was played at the usual ground on Saturday last, 11th inst. The ground was wet, and the playing anything but brilliant. From the very first of the game it was evident that Helensville was altogether out-classed. Sudurbs kicked off, a line-out following, Suburbs got a free, which was kicked by A. McLeod, but without any result. Even play for some time, till Helensville got a free and rushed the ball into Suburbs' territory. Again even play, till Suburbs rushed, and McArthur got the ball, securing a try, which was not converted. From this till the change there was no play of any importance to note. Suburbs ... ... 3 Helensville ... ... 0 Helensville kicked, and shortly afterwards Suburbs secured another try. Suburbs ... ... .6 Helensville ... ... 0 After the ball had been kept in play for some time Suburbs got well into Helensville's lines and C. McLeod got a try. Suburbs ... ... 9 Helensville ... ... 0 Half time. During the whole of this change Suburbs had the game their own way. C. McLeod made a splendid run and secured another try, which Hart converted. Subnrbs ... ...* 14 Helensville ... ... 0 The last change was much the same as the previous. At the close of the game J. Martin got the ball and drew first blood for Helensville by getting a try, which Luttrell converted. Suburbs ... ... ,14 Helensville ... ... 5 . Thus ended the tamest game played at Helensville during the season.
