HAD GIVEN THE WRONG HAND.
Two young girls were talking on a street ear, when one of them said:
The awfullest thing happened to me yesterday. Bess and I came down together on the street car and it was just crowded to suffocation. T was afraid I'd -lose Bess. an<J *°J -inst grabbed her hand and held on for dear life When we were nearly to our block, iust fancy!-! looked down, and it wasnt Bess's hand at all. but I was holding that of a young man whom I had never seen. I dropped it, you can imagine, right quick paying, TVe got the wrong band!' when what do y oll S mj pose he answered—'Why miss you are perfectly welcome'to the other if you will accent it.' "
