Poultry was penned in large numbers, and prices for good birds were firm. Pullets are in strong demand. Pigs are in short supply, and demand stronger. Local potatoes are slow of sale and values are low. Swedes and pumpkins are a glut on the market and prices are-very low. We would suggest to clients that they hold tor a few weeks. Cheese, bacon, fresh eggs, and honey are meeting with strong competition. POULTRY 1650 penned. Hens, prime 1/10 to 2/2, special birds up to 4/3, ordinary 1/7 to 1/9 ; ducks, 2/ to 3/ ; roosters, prime 3/6 to 4/5, good 3/ to 3/4, others 2/ to 2/9 ; geese, 4/; turkey, gobblers 6/ to 11/ hens 3/9 to 6/. Pigs, 6/6 to 18/6. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, Southern £5 to £5 10s, local £2 to £3; swedes, £1 10s; pumpkins, £2 10s to £3 ss; red carrots, £3 10s ; pie and citron melons, £3 to £4 10s'; kumaras, 7/ to 8/6; onions, £4 to £6 ss; picklers, 8s to 9/6.
