Ladies' Column,
Novel and Pretty Watch Hanger. Most of us know how pleasant it is on waking to have a watch placed in such a position that the time may be seen at a glance. A very pretty and simple little notion for attaining this object is illustrated by the accompanying sketch. It merely consists of a smart bow of prettily-coloured ribbon, in the centre of which a large dress-hook is sewn on. At the back of the bow ribbon strings are sewn, by which it may be securely tied to the bedrail in the manner shown, with the hook hanging downwards. '
The small sketch at the top illustrates the appearance of this little article prior to fastening it in position, and it would be a good idea to select the colour of the ribbon to match or harmonise with the bed-quilt with which it is to appear. It can, of course, be made in a few moments, and besides being very useful, it forms a pretty little decoration. If the watch is not taken off the chain, the latter can be allowed to hang over the rail at the back, and will not interfere with the face of the watch being aeen.
