MR. J. JONES, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, Auckland, reports •:— Business this week has been good, and | prices ruled slightly firmer. Poultry were penned in less numbers and prices firmed. Local potatoes, swedes and pumpkins are slow of sale, the market, in fact, is glutted. Butter and eggs are ! steady. Fruit market is firmer. We quote : POULTRY '■+ 1/8 to 2/4; pullets, 3/ to 5/6 ; ducks, 2/ to 3/3; roosters, good 3/6 to 4/7, ordinary 2/6 to 3/ ; geeso, 3/6 to 4/6 ; turkeys, gobblers 8/ to 12/9, hens 3/9 to 5/9. FRUIT A-pples, dessert 5/ to 6/6, cookers 4/6 to 6/9 ; pears, 5s to 8/6, cookers 4s to 6s; lemons, 5s to 6/9.
