DOG LITE-SAVER

A small Pomeranian dog has been

the means of saving the life of a servant girl in a fire at Worcester. Left in charge of the house, the girl went to bed and allowed the dog to enter the room. She had not been asleep long before she was awakened by the dog pulling the sleeve of her nightdress. The room was filled with smoke, and the girl jumped from the window on to a parapet. When,rescuers came she refused to leave the parapet until the dog was first saved.

Farmer (to horse-dealer) : "No, I don't bear ye no malice ; I only hope that when you're chased by a pack ,of ravening wolves you'll be drivin' that horse you sold me."
