Mr J. JONES, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, Auckland, reports :— The market this week has been' steady and values generally were about the' same as last week. Local potatoes are now almost unsaleable unless at very low prices. Swedes and pumpkins are a glut) on the market. The poultry market for good conditioned birds has firmed, also ducks were higher in value. Butter, eggs, and fruit are steady at about last week's rates. Pullets are are in strong demand. We quote : | FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, Southern £5 to £5 10s, local (almost unsaleable) £2 to £2 10s ; swedes, £1 10s to £2; pumpkins, £3 to £4 ; carrots, white £2 to £2 10s, red £3 to £4 ; cabbage, 3/ to 5/ per sack ; onions, 6/ to 7/; pie and citron melons, £2 to £2 10s. Pigs: Market easier, 5/ to 16/6. POULTRY Roosters, prime 3/6 to 4/5, good 3/ to 3/3, others 2/6 to 2/9; cockrells, 1/ to 1/9 ; hens, prime 1/9 to 2/2, poor 1/4 to 1/5 ; ducks, 2/ to 3/2 ; geese, 3/6; turkeys I gobblers 8/ to 11/6, hens 4/ to 5/9. DAIRY PRODUCE Butter, 9d to 9]^d ; eggs, 1/9 to 1/10, preserved 1/ to 1/2; cheese, 6d to 7d; hams, 9d to lid; sides, 9d to 9Hd ; lard, 8d; honey, 4/, bulk 3d per lb. FRUIT Apples, dessert 5s to 7/6, cookers 4/9 to 6/9 ; pears, 4s to 6s ; persimons, 2/6 to 3/6 ; passion fruit, 2s 9d to 4s; lemons (market full), 5s to 7s. GRAIN Maize, 4s 6d; wheat, 4s 9d ; oats, 2s 9d ; Algerian oats, 3s 6d ; bran, 4s ; sharps, £7 ss; barley, 3s 2d; beans. 4s 6d;. chaff, local, £5 to £5 10s.
