THOSE FORGED £10 NOTES

SINCE the forgery of bank-notes was reported in Auckland, the police of Sydney have kept a" sharp look out on all vessels from the Dominion. They failed to detect any suspects arriving. The movements of a foreigner, however, aroused saspicion, and he was closely watched.

On Sunday a strong force of detectives paid a surprise visit to a lodging-house at Redfern, and arrested the foreigner while at dinner.

A search of his room discovered a complete plant for printing bank-notes, including a press, printer's ink, and valuable lenses, prepared plates for etching, and a £1 Bank of New Zealand note, while under his pillow was a fully loaded automatic pistol. Bail was fixed at £300.
