ST. MATTHEW'S CHURCH.

MEETING OF PARISHIONERS,

The Annual meeting of Parishioners of St. Matthew's (Anglican) parochial district, held at Helensville, was well attended. In the course of his address the Vicar (Rev. C. I. Merton) spoke of the work being done throughout the parish in glowing terms. A good deal of progress had been made during the year, and the work of the Church was well received in all parts of the district. The interest in the Church as a whole was shown by the liberal assistance from the various districts for the reduction of debt on the vicarage. He was also glad to speak of the interest shown in his own work in these districts. He also desired to point to the good work being done by the Sunday schools. In Helensville they had a large schopl but more teachers were badly needed. He returned thanks to the Sunday school teachers, lay readers, vestry, choir, ladies' guild and to the Churchwardens for the valuable services rendered by them during the year.

The annual balance sheet showed receipts of £370 14s, and included offertories £134, donations £40, concerts and social £11 6s, grants from C. C. Fund £32 10s, sales of work Helensville £56 2s 9d, Tauhoa, £21 Os 6d, Wellsford £41 5s od, Kumeu and Wa,iniau.ku £16 ss. A credit balance of 4s lid was shown,

The following officers were appointed: People's warden, Mr W. Olive ; secretary Mr A. J. Hill; auditor, Mr W. R; Fosbroke; vestry, Messrs A. J. Hill, H. W. Stringer, E. T. Field, J. Mills, R. J. Walters, Chandler, Syers, Woodhouse, Green (Parkhurst) un.L Watts (Waimauku).
