Once more the Ladies' Committee of the Anglican Church presented to the publio on April 8, a very attractive programme. and great interest was centred in it throughout the district. Despite all this the Hall was fairly well filled, some eighty persons being present. Several solo singers were absent owing to the weather or indisposition,, but the programme which was of a varied character, seemed to be much appreciated by the audienceThe concerted items received praise on all sides; beginning with the eight nigger boys who caused so much fun by their appearanca and well rendered little jsong and chorus ; the ten " Schoolgirls " who sang the "Japanese Fan Song" while waving their fans so gracefully; and the violin, piano and organ trio, also the four .> .- glees (numbering 16 voices) were highly appreciated. The recitations were of a humorous nature, and both Mrs KerrTaylor and Miss Quinn were encored when the latter kindly gave two short and piquent pieces. The programme was as follows: Piano solo, "Golden Bells,", Miss E N> Smith ; song, "A Brigand am I," Mr Theo Kerr-Taylor; coon song and chorus, . Down by the Golden Stream," schoolboys; glee, "O Hasten from the Busy lown. Refreshments were handed 'round, when the Hall presented a merry party scene of flowers, gay dresses, smiling faces, and happy talk and laughter. Dancing was kept up with zest until 12.30 to the hvely music of violin and piano.-[Con-tributed.j Drivers~~^d~~o^rl~of motor * vehicles should note the provision made by the Government Railways Amendment Act of 1913, which Provides that every parson in charge of a motor, or driving a mo tor on %x along any road or street, shall, when approaching a railway crossing, slacken speed when within 100 yards of he crossing to a rate not exceeding ten miles an hour, and shall stop be* to-e fouling the raihyav line.
