HELENSVILLE v. AN AUCKLAND TEAM

A tennis match was played at the Helensville Tennis Club's ■ courts on Easter Monday, between a party of about thirty players from Auckland and Helensville, the results being a win for the Auckland party by 14 sets to 11 sets and 125 games to 115 games. The weather was not all that could be desired, but luckily it cleared up during the day. There was some very good play, keen contests resulting on both sides. The visitors were entertained at dinner at Bishop's Terminus Hotel by the local team, and during the play afternoon tea was provided by the lady members, ably assisted by Mrs Stringer, Mrs Hill, Mrs Coutts, and Mrs Merton, which was very much appreciated by all.
