Hotel-keeping is a favourite hobby of some Royalties and a good many j society people. The Duke Carl Theodore of Bavaria has an hotel at Tegernsee, a few miles south of : Munich. Lady Aberdeen is presi- , dent of the Green Lady Hostel, an [ hotel for working people at Little- j hampton. Lady Augusta Orr-Ewing j the widowed daughter of Lord and | Lady Glasgow, has a first-rate ho- j tel for golfers at Dunskey, her j home at Portpatrick, in Wigtownshire. Lady Burton and her husband, Mr. Hail lie, of Dochfour, have built and fitted out a splendid modern hotel at Aviemore, from which can be seen the Carrington Range and some of the finest scenery ! in Inverness-shire.

Lord Dunraven keeps an hotel for golfers close to Adare Manor, his place in Limerick. Lord Leitrim owns the Rosapenna Hotel at Mulroy Bay, which was designed in Stockholm and built .of wood in Scandinavian fashion ; and Lord Inchiquin bar an hotel at Arranmore, near his place at Miltoo-n-MaVnay, in Ireland. Lord Claud Hamilton is interested in the Sandrincrham Hotel at Hunstanton, as is the Hon. Douglas Tollemache in the Felix Hotel, Felixstowe, which is built after the model of ITelmingham.
