A Dangerous Catch.
Quite recently a Loch Fyne fishing crew had - a remarkable experience. Their skiff lay at anchor in the loch, and the men were below preparing for a night's work. Suddenly, the sound of the water rippling gently against the boat was replaced .by the swish of the forefoot as it parted the sea. It was soon discovered that, in some mysterious way, they were travelling at a high speed out of the harbour.
The anchor being down (as was supposed), and the sails furled, the crew? at once associated the incident with some supernatural agency and for a time confusion prevailed on board. But the master, undaunted, made a toiir of inspection, whereupon he found that the anchor rope was taut between the bow and some denizen of the deep. He severed the connection, and their ! speed slackened. Immediately aft«r, and some distance away, a large \ whale rose to blow. The anchor , could be seen hanging from the flesh below its eye, where it hud embedded itself as the monster ; swam beneath the skiff.
