Let Them All Come.
THE TUB-THUMPERS
Politicians, good, bad and indifferent, are now upon the stump, and like many another town outside of Auckland, deemed as unworthy of so much as bare recognition of existence for years past, we are to be fully recognised (for a time), and promised many good things, even to being saved from absolute ruination. Votecatching is predominent, and unless one looks and considers very carefully, why he won't know where 'c are. Messrs W. D. S. Mac Donald, the Member for Bay of Plenty, and Mr J. C. Thompson (Wallace), opened the ball in Helensville on Monday, on behalf of the Opposition cause. After them we are promised a visit from Mr T. E. Seddon tWestland), G. Witty (Riccarton), then we have a plethoria of candidates seeking votes available for the cause of Reform, Liberalism, Labour, Independence and Socialism. Last but not least, the Premier, and the Hon. W. H. Herries, Minister for Railways, will soon be in our midst, fighting the cause of Reform, and we trust our city fathers will be in the same fight for a new and spacious railway station, in place of the present ancient bird cage.
