Explorations by Public Works Departmenc surveyors have resulted in the discovery of a better route than that originally planned for the railway between Whangarei and the Morth Auckland Main Trunk.

Ohjoetinn was taken to (ho Tauntrua Valley route because of its circuitous nature, and attempts were made to find another route through the Waiorera. The result of these activities has been the discovery of a much better route, lying practically between the two'meutioned.
