POLITICAL PILOTS.

Mr M. W. Welsh, farmer, of Taita, has announced that he has definitely decided to stand for the Hutt seat at the next election. Mr Welsh is well known in the district, is a member of several local bodies, and is chairman of the Hutt County Council. He is a supporter of the present Government.

It has been announced that Mr F. Beechy, of Kaitieke, will contest the Waimarino seat at the general election against Mr R. W. Smith, as a Government supporter. xxx

A West Coast paper says it is rumored in well-informed circles that Mr James Colvin, MP. for Buller, will not seek re-election at the forth-coming elections at the end of the year. Poor fellow a misfit.

Mr R. Hoe, of Woodhill is spoken of as a candidate for the Kaipara seat, in straight out Liberal interests.
