Mr. Jackson reported having inspectl ed the bridge built by the syndicate without authority to join two roads. He considered the site ill-chosen, and it would be necessary for the owners to provide a gradt^ to it. The bridge was well buiit, but required new deck planks, and the wings needed some attention. As the bridge was built over tidal waters the syndicate, should get permission from, the Marine Department for it to remain. If this was done and the permit deposited with the council, the new deck planks and other work attended to, he would recommended that the bridge be approved by ihe co'iucil.

Mr Anderson asked that attentiDn be paid to the Ridge Eoad. He said it had no name, but as the view was magnificent, they had better call ifc Glory Bridge Road. If the Council had no money they should raise the rates.

Mr Brabant said they were prepared to contribute £.50 towards the cost. Perhaps the City Council might contribute something.

Mr Greenwood said if a graded road was made, it would cost £500. His own idea was to form a fourteen fee^ road on the ridge and spend £20 to put a sledge road to Mr Anderson's, eight feet in width.

The offer was accepted, and it was agreed that the Engineer should prepare plans for the work after consult^ ation with Mr Brabant and Mr Greenwood.
