BOGUS SILK COMPANY.

A man named Edwin Liddel lias been committed for trial at Sydney for obtaining postal notes for 2s 6d each from three women under false preten. ces.

Liddel advertising largely as the "Ceylon Silk Company/ offered ten yards of silk for 2s 6d.

Plaintiffs sent orders but failed <o receive any silk.

Detectives gave evidence that they seized over L2OO in money aud many postal notes from all the States at accused's residence.

A postal official stated that 18,542 letters were awaiting delivery to the "Ceylon Silk Compaay."
