THE WORLD'S EXHIBITION AT 'FRISCO.
It is satisfactory to learn that the British Governments thinking of reconsidering its decision not to aid the British mercantile interests to be adequately represented at the forthcoming exhibition at San Franciso. It will give added force to the attempt of New Zealand patriots to press their government to do the same thing. It is true that no government grant was put on the estimates last session. But it is also true that the government isnotaversed to having its hand forced in this matter. Expenses (abnormal) have-been so heavy this year that a little pressure is wanted for adcwiig an. abnormal item. Mr Hassey opened.the way at Auckland, when he said the Agricultural exhibit there was first rate and-gave a> splendid view x>f. our products. That is precisely what we want for the San Fransico The Mines Department could do the ' same for our mineral wealth, and trie Tourist department for our \ touting grounds, and the Commerce and Industries department for\ the rest of our activities. If the merchants co-operate we ought to cover Jthe ground well. Chambers of Commerce and Farmers' Unions must agitate until the government falls into line with them.
