Jones, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, reports ;— Large quantities of Potatoes have come forward this week to a falling market, a great many samples being of a poor qualify which aie hard to quit. The prospects'for potatoes this year are very poor. Butter and E</gs have increased in supply and prices declined from last week's quotations. Poultry came forward iv large quantities and o.ving to the disorganised state of business prices weie lower than last week. Old ducks are in heavy supply with sales hard to effect. We quote.— Potatoes, prime, L 4 10s to L 6 ; good Ll ; inferior, unsaleable. Onions ISs. Cabbages, 5s 6d sack, i Butter lOd to lid. Eggs Is Id to Is 2ld. Cheese 7(1. Hams, Is. Sides 9d to lOd. Fruit. Lemons, prime, 12s to 14s ; good 8s 9d to 10s. Loquats, os. Goosberries 4s od to 5s Od. Apples13s 6d to 16s. Poultry. • Hens, prime, 2s 9d to 3s 3d; good '2s Od to 2s 8d ; poor 2s to 2s 2d.
