Tho heavy wind of yesterday blew the roof off a shed belonging to the Kaipara Shipping Co. and deposited it on the railway line, but the ob stinction was moved without inconvenience to the railway authorities. Th^ results of the Rahotu Cow-test-ing Association's work in Taranaki shows that there are some very good cows in the district. ' The teu best cows gave a return of 37111b of butter-fat for the month of October, an average of jnst ov> r 371b. The fpn wors' cows showed n return of 1581b for the month an average of 15^-lb per cow. The best cow tested during the month gave a return of 651b of fat.
