Lawn Tennis.

Extra playing aceoruodation is now available at the local club's grounds and is keenly appreciated by players. Three sets can now play at the same time and a fourth playing arena will soon be ready. The courts are in very good order at present. A shelter shed has just been completed and this will doubtless prove very serviceable, A useful practice match took place last Thursday between club members and players from Mr W. Cullens' court. Club members also played in the latter team, Some fairly good play was witnessed, although in many instances the players were obviously short of practice, A good number of lady members were present, and. the afternoon tea they provided was very enjoyable. The weather was some> "what threatening, but play had practically concluded when the rain came. The club players had a good margin of games to the good. On Thursday next it is intended to Have a match among club players, and if possible a match will be arranged with a visiting team for Monday next, Labor Day.
