Cattle have been fed on silver-beet' and it is stated it lias not tainted the milk, bur, the beet was out and fed to them in another paddock. IVo doubt it could bn ffd off by cattle, but the danger would be of their eating too deep into tho crown and preventing it making a good second growth. Stock must not bo left on bilver-beet too long. TV here cattle feed on it they should have just a break sufficient for them to ent oil: in a day. The bo-t variety to sow, so far as the Department's experiimnts have gone, is the Swiss Oh .-ml silver beet—plain darkgreen loaf, with broad stem and thick midrib. -Journal cf Agriculture,
