Ihe Domain grounds are now beginning to'show the approach of more congenial weather conditions. .Plants ana shrubs, and the early "summer flowers, are now showing up well and make an attractive environment, bevoral thousand bulbous plants, etc, have recently been taken from the trames and planted out, and all the tender hardy annuals have vet to be pxanted. There will be more flowers and a bigger variety next summer than over before. A lot of new plants aud Shrubs have also been added, but tnese take several years, in many instances, to show off advantageously, lhe vanous courts for recreation purposes are now being prepared ~and will be roaay in a few weeks' time.
A_tp_am representing Kaipara Union met Waivoa Junior reps last Saturday at Helensville, a very fast game, though by no means brilliant, ending in a uraur of 3 points each. The visiting team had a decided advantage on the play, but the home lot were the more dangerous in regard to scoring, lwo kicks at goal by Logan McLeo'd missed.by tne narrowest of margins and a try to Williams was not allowed because the referee did not see' the score. The visitors had some good scoring chances, and should have won on the play, but their efforts lacked nmsh. Mr j. Durand refereed.
