McFarlane, chairman of directors, said he thought they could look forward to the coming season with confidence' as the markets were increasing in number every year. .Whilst that of Canada would certainly show an increase on last year, there were also very good hopes that the ' restrictive tariff in the United States would be removed, which would mean a big outlet for dairy produce in that country, which had a big industrial population. South Ji^AA-frica also contributed to absorb , % considerable quantity of New xw Zealand butter. They were less 'IF dependent on the Home market than a few years back. Several \ of the large factories that installed v cheese plants last year, did not start making cheese till practically the middle of the season, but doubtless this season they would make cheese right through from Jf the early spring. He added that the company was at present receiving a good price for its butter. The best offer he had heard of so far this season was Is per lb of butter-fat. He thought that they could afford to wait a little while, and see " how the cat jumped," so to speak, before negotiating for the new season's out-put
