The Auckland Farmers' Union Ltd, report as follows :—At Kamo on the sth inst, we offered fully the advertised number (800) of cattle and have to report a very successful sale ; most of the cattle consisted of real good quality steers, ranging from 2£ to 3^ year?. The beef pens were rilled mostly with steers and these were keenly competed for at advanced rates, the better quality making fully 35s per IGO lbs. Dairy stock. Good sound young cows were wanted and sold freely at from L 5 10s to LlO. Prices for springing heifers were inclined to be easier than a month ago, several chan2ing hands at from L 4 to L 6 10s. Beef steers from L 9 to Ll 6, cows L 6 to LlO 15s. Grown steers L 7 10s to L 8 ss, 3 year steers L 3 15s to L 7 10s; 2 year steers L 4 15s to L 5 10s ; 12 to 18 months steers L 3 5s to L 5. Steer calves Ll 15s to £2 15s. Empty cows with a bit of condition were wanted and sold at from £4 17s to £5 10s, others £3 15s to L 4 10s ; 2 years, empty heifers £3 5s to £4. During the past month we have conducted sixteen clearing pales of dairy stock and in every instance there was keen competition, when good stock were offered.
Report of Mr J. Jones, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, Auckland— Poultry came forward in heavy supply to a good demand. Potatoes are easier. Fruit is firmer. Eggs are easier. We quote : — Poultry—Boosters, special 4s to 4s 8d ; good 3s to 3s 9d ; small 2s to 2s 9d. Hens ordinaiy 2s 3d to 3s ; special 3s to 5s 4d, Ducks 2s 3d to 3s lid, A lme of ducks from Whan-' garei realised 4s 3d to 5s 6d. Geese 3s 9d to 4s 3d. Turkey gobblers 8s 6d to 12s 9d. Hens 4s 3d to 6s 2d. Pigs 8s 9d to 19s 6d.,. Fruit—Choice apples 8s to 9s 9d ; cookers 7s 9d to 9s 3d. Pears 8s to 10s 9d. Lemons 7s 6d to 10s 4d.
