The many friends of Mrs Tarrantj of Woodhill, will regret to hear that she has been rather ill of late Mr E. Cucksey had a nasty attack of influenza during last week, but was soon about again. The many friends of Mrs H. White Jnr. will regret to hear that she is at present detained in Auckland owing to illness. Mr C. Wilson, clerk at the local Post Office, received notice last Saturday of his transfer to Hunterville, for "which place he left on Tuesday. He was an obliging official at the counter, for which he is entitled to commendation. Mr Wilson has been a prominent member of the football and tennis clubs in Helensville, and will be a' distinct loss in local athletic circles. Norman Stringer, aged between 8 and 9 years (son of Mr H. W. Stlinger, town clerk) met with a nasty accident on Saturday by which he sustained a broken arm. He had been out for a ride on a horse and on his return drew rein while he chatted with someone, when another boy twitching the horse's tail disturbed the animal with the result that Norman fell off and sustained a painful compound fracture of the left arm, near the elbow. H e was taken to the hospital, and is now doing well.
