Helensville A. and P. Association.

The General Committee of the A. and P. Association met on Wednesday evening, there being present Messrs J. McLeod (chairman), R. Nicholls, A. J. Bradly, J. S. McDonald. C. H. Spinley, J, Reynard, M. Haffoad, Jas Newman, W. Nieholls, N. W. Eimmer, W. Fllett and J. 0. Eiinmer.

A letter was read from Mr E. Ferrall in which lie gave his views on matters affecting the society's interests, and after comment on same the letter was " received.'*

The Chairman referred to the unfavorable replv of the Minister for Kailways to Mr Grorodn Coates' enquiry for a Sunday milk train between Helensville and Auckland. The discussion showed that the Ministers's. reply was regarded as far from, satisfactory, and on the Chaii man's motion it was eventually decided that the Minister be written to and urged to re-consider the question of providing the train asked for, also.that the Auckland members, Messrs Dickson. Myers, Glover, Bradney and Bollard be asked to assist the member for Kaipara (Mr Gordon Coates) in bringing this matter again before the Minister. It was also decided to ask the co-operation of the Town Board on this > question. (W. Eimmer—Spinley.) Sections fob Sale. , The Chairman reported on behalf of the sub-committee set up to deal ■with, the disposal of portion ot show grounds and explained what had teen done. The sections were now advertised for sale, and the prices ranged from £100 down to £60 per acre. Easy terms Had been arranged and the sections should sell well. The action, of the sub-committee was approved.—lt was further decided to accept surrender of Mr Nicholls' grazing lease from July 31st. The Chairman was authorised to sign plan on behalf of the Society, Genekal, The question of procuring a safe for the protection of the Society's records and books was left in the hands of the Chairman, who was authorised to spend n sum not exceeding £10, It was decided that meetings of the Committee be held in the Library. Messrs Eddlestone and L. L. Bailey were elected members of the Society. Kevision of Schedule. In the revision of \ schedule Class 4 was altered to read " Best mare with foal at foot " and a new class was added for " Best mare for breeding purposes." Class J 0 was altered from spring cart horse, one ton, to read 30 cwt. Class 22 was altered to read same as class 4 with an extra class added. In the- hunters' section the question of pony hunters not being allowed to compete against hunters was discussed, and it was decided to follow Auckland society's classification, which will add two new classes. An extra saddling competition was added lor girls under 16 years, for which Mr Nicholls offered a prize of 10s 6d, with a sweepstake added.

The meeting then adjourned until information is available as to special prizes, as a number of classes can 1)p included only if the same special prizes are given.
