In a recent Gazette appears a Proclamation by the Governor chancing 'the uanao of "Wade "to that of bilverdale, as approved by Waitemata County Council. The Awaroa Bowling Club has made a start ,nth the excavation -work for a bowling green, but the bad weather of the past few days has temporarily cheeked operations. At Saturday's meeting of the Domain Board a letter was received from .• Mr H. Bertand, of Devonporr, on behalf of the subscribers for an -Invalid Chair for the Hot Springs, to the effect that Mr E. Cucksey had purchased a chair at about" half usual cost, which, the Board was asked to accept. The balance of cash subscribed had been spent- on head re&ts for the baths, which were also .donated ;to the Board. The members expressed ■ pleasure at the gifts and decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr Berti-and.
