Eimmer gave some particulars of the local dairy industry, shewing that the Kaipara Company had gone ahead very rapidly since its inception, and for the season just closed had more than doubled the output of the previous year. The Chief Health Officer (Dr Yalintine) inserts an advertisement in which any person or company, being carriers of passengers, are forbidden to allow any Maori or half-caste to travel who cannot produce a certificate of vaccination. Maoris and half-castes are also forbidden to travel on the railways unless they are able to show a vaccination certificate. In reference to the dredging required at the Mititai wharf, the Minister of Marine has advised Mr Ccates, M.P,, that the cause of the delay has been that the Marine Engineer, after having further report made upon the work, has decider] to try and -remove the bank by having marine harrows dragged over it by a steamer, and these aie now at Auckland and are being sent at once to Mititai via Hnlonsville, so that the work may be begun without further delaj*. Should it be found that the harrows will not do what is required, the work will be I carried out by use of dredges. |
