A man named Patrick McCarthy, a stranger to tho town, was brought before Mr E. Thurlow Field, J.P., at the Courthouse, on Tuesday, charged with, drunkenness and vagrancy. He pleaded guilty to the first charge but denied the latter. On the drunkenness couut he was convicted and discharged, and ou the vagrancy charge .convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
