Magistrate's Court

Judgment was given for plaintiffs with costs in the following debt cases : —Stewart Bros v Maki Wand (claim £59 3d) £34 by consent, Muri and Warati v P. Tehana and wife £ 474 d, Stewart Bros v T. E. Skelton £8 2s Id, James Hand v W. Fenton £2 5s Bd, James Hand v Nicholas Pavich £1 lls4d. Orders were made on judgment-, summonses for payment of following amounts :—Stewart Bros v A. George £21 15s 7d, v Kib | £12 19s iod, v Harehona £o 14s 2d, AVi Henery £5 3a Od, v Perekara senr £9 4s Gd. J. Stewart v Tautuhi £8 13s Bd, v Marie Te Hnu £6 2s Id, vW. Paenganui £3 10s, v Mira Mikaera £t2 2s 9d, v Mi Henry £13 4s 3d, v Pehekarasenr £8 6s OdSeveral other cases were adjourned to next Court day and a number were struck out. A>~ AIVT/EOEP TKESI'ASS. A case of alleged trespass by cattle was brought by Chas Newman, against S. Broughton, both of Pouto, in which the plaintiff claimed damages. Mr Stelling appeared for plaintiff and Mr Cotter, K.C. for the defence. The case was only partly heard, and the magistrate intimated he would appoint a special day for the further hearing ; and a civil action, Mrs Newman v F. Le Grice, claim for cattle grazing, would be set down for the same day. As the result of the appointment of another magistrate for the Auckland district the Magistrate's Court at Helensville will sit every six weeks instead of two«monthly periods as formerly.
