Wide World Pictures

No greater testimony coiild be paid to the popularity of the Wide World Pictures than the big patronage which they are nightly accorded by tho public wherever shown. Last week's programmes were highly instructive and entertaining and were keenly appreciated in consecjuence. Another choice new list has boen organised for to-night, when tho magnificent feature dramas "Quaker Mother" and ''Two Daughters of Eve" will be given de serving prominence. In the latter subject it is shown how calumny is one is one of the most despicable crimes against our neighbour, and while the wife in the story acted conyentionally she nevertheless maligned tbe other woman simply because of her profession- an actress. While out on a shopping tour the wife and her husband eurer a store, leaving their child in the auto in the care oi! the chafieur. This gentleman pays but scant attention to tho child, so the little one wanders off and strolls into the stage door of a theatre during a matiuee. The parents therefore return to the auto, discover the child's absence and trace him to tho theatre stage, where they lind him in the arms of one of the show girls. The mother snatches the child from the girl's arms, scornfully exclaiming, '-How dare you contaminate my child with your touch?'' From this remark, together with the derisive laughter ifc occasions, the girl vows to be avenged. The programme is otherwise nicely varied with pictures that range from the gay to the serious and the lively to the severe, and a rougnly enjoyable evening can be counted on.
