(From Our Own Correspondent.) It is with regret we have to record the somewhat sudden death of Mrs E. Walsh, head teacher of the Woodhill school, which occurred on Friday, May 2nd, and was due to heart failure. She had been on sick leave for about three weeks, though was able to attend to light household duties till the day of her death. Mrs Walsh was 45 years of age, > and had a long and estimable > record under the Auckland Board ■HjjLj^of Education, holding the highest ipfPFT qualifications of the 45 teachers ~f who applied for the position of (___ teacher at Woodhill school at the end of last year. The deceased lady leaves a husband and four children, three boys and one girl (the youngest 7 years old), to mourn their loss.
