Mr. J. Jones, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, Auckland, reports as follows:— There has been large volume of business in the Fruit and Produce market this week. Prices in some lines are slightly iowe r than last week Apples and pears are arriving in large quantities to a good market for prime lots. Potatoes: buyers are now turning their attention to southern potatoes, Jocals being neglected unless of prime quality. Poultry came forward in large supplies to a' steadj market. Eggs and butter are selling very well. ' We quote:—Potatoes (local) prime lots £6 ; others according to quality £5 to £5 10 ; Southers £6 10s to £7. Onions £7 10 to £8. Fweede £2 5s to £3 15s. Pumpkins £.5 to £6 10s. Xumras Bs. Citron melons £4. Butter, bulk, 10M to ll£d. Fresh eggs 2s to 2s 2d preserved Is 3d to Is od. Farmer's oheese 5d to 6d. Apples choice desert 7s to 8s good 5s 3d to 6s 2d ;• cookers 4s 9d to 6s 3d. Pears, desert, 5s to 6s 3d; cookers 3s 9d. Passions 3s to 3s 3d. Lemons 9s to 13s 6d. Poultry: Rooster, table 3s to 4s 6d; small 2s to 3s 6d ; ccckrells Is Id to Is 6d ; hens Is 7d to 2s 3d ; — ducks Is9d to 2s lOd; geese 3s 6d; turkey gobbler 8s 6.1 to 13s 3d ; hens 4s to 6s.
