Church Iwas; c<oricerned .in the outlying districts it s§eined;yto ■:■ be progressing, anpl cwneWnVlooked atHhe size.of the Helensyille congregation that evening, which had ; been somewhat similar many' times lately, he had had to say that the Church was doing, very well, in Helensville.; ; What hp could not, understand was, why the" Church should not have larger"; congregations. 'He' 'Understood that Mr Forrester ■ had expressed surprise that there were not larger gatherings at the . morhing services, and he appealed to the parishioners to try and revive this service. He had to congratulate Helensville on the work that was going on, particularly so because they did not know the work that was being done in other parts of the parish as he did, and he advised his hearers to continue step by. step 1 for advancement. In speaking of the Sunday School he made eulogistic references to the work dpne .by the : leachers, whose energy and devotion to duty would ' compare with any other Sunday Schoolteachers in the Dominion. He would try to render every assistance to that branch of the Church work. Proceeding, he made very complimentary references to,the service rendered by Mr White as organist (also Mr Johnson who filled the position during- Mr White's temporary retirement). H e also paid emcomiiims to Mr Page as choirpleader, , t0.,-j Messrs Page, and Woodhpuse (lay \ readers), and to the^choi.iy- He also paid a tribute t6*the 'Vestry''and hoped 'to get along ; as \harmoniously'in the future with the" Vestry as in the past few months.
