Proposed New Bridge

At last Mondays meeting of the Town Board, Mr Jackson, Engineer to the Waitemata County Council,

submitted to the Board a tracing of the proposed new bridge in place of the present Swing Bridge on the Helensville-Parakai road to the Hot Springs. The tracing shows a solid structure in concrete being about, 210 feet in length, in 7 spans, 75 feet less than the present bridge, two spans being taken off the Helensville end ; it will be 16 feet wide, and will have rails of iron piping running the full length on either side, Mem- / bers expressed approval of the draw lin& but until it is passed by the Works Department, the Engineer could not give the exact cost, although be considered it could be built for £2000. The drawing is on view in Mr. Gassons' shop, Advertiser building.
