A, and P, Association Spring Show, and corn* petition for these was extra keen, and high prices were obtained. -Other cattle were also a little firmer. . Choice ox sold to Ll 7s, prime Ll 4s to Ll 9s : cowsand heifers Ll to Ll 5s ; steers ranged in price from L 7 10s to L2O ; cows and heifers, L4 to Ll2 17s 6d. The show cattle sold as follows ; — Mr P. Sutton'r first prize heavy bullocks, LL7 17s 6d (bought by Mr T. Baster, Ponsonby Road) : Messrs Hall Bros, second prizes heavy bullock, 1.20 15s (bought by Messis I\. and W. Hellaby, Lid. Shortland Street ); Mr K. Reynolds' third prize heavy bullocks, Ll7 17s Gd (bought by Mr Gr. O. Knight, Karanghape Road) ; Mr A. Orr's first prize cows, Ll2 17s (bought by Mr R. and W. Hellaby ) ; pen of three bullocks under 4 years, Ll6 15s (bought by "W. Gray, Parnell) ' Messrs Hall Bros' pen of three steers, 3 year old, suitable for freezing Ll4 12s 6d (bought by the Auckland Meat Co., Ltd) ; Messrs Hall Bros' first prize two~yeai-old steer, Ll 8 and Ll2 (bought by Messrs R. Salmon and Son and W, Gray) : 16 two-year-old ste-rs, from Rermiera Estate, Bay of Islands, averaged L9. A full yarding of fat and young calves sold readily. Runners L3 18 to L 4 11s, heavy suckers L 2 18s toLtf 12s, choice medium suckers L2 18 to L 3 15s, choice medium suckers Ll 15s to L2, light Ll os toLl 4s, small and frosh dropped 10s to L 2 2s. weedy 3s to 8s (96 sold ). There was a heavy yarding of mutton the buJk being prime heavy wethers and ewes. There was a firm demand throughout, but on the whole values were a shade easier.
