TOWN BOARD
A meeting of the above Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present Messrs McLeod (chairman), Wilson, Hand and Stewart. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, A letter was read from the Waitemata County Council in answer to the Boards request that Portage Road be improved to enable the Board to cart waterworks material, stating that the matter had been left in the hands of Hiding Member and Engineer to deal with. Letter from H.A. and P. Association re lease of Section to the Board for the puipose of a Borough Pound, offering 50 by 100 feet at a rental of 30s per annum, lease to be from year to year. It was decided to hold the matter over members not being satisfied with the terms. Letter from N.Z, Kail ways asking the Board if they wished to purchase a 12-ton weighbridge which is being ; taken out af the Helensville Railway Station. Received, A number of tenders for the supply of waterworks material were opened and referred to the Engineer. Accounts paid between meetings amounting to £14 Is were passed, and accounts amounting to i 24 2s 6d were passed for payment. Drainage—Accounts amounting to £108 18s 8d paid between meetings were passed. It was resolved that the Clerk write to Mr John Hand stating that the Board is prepared to give him £50 without prejudice for permission to cart material for and to lay pipes across his property, in connection with the Water Supply Scheme.
